They decrease food consumption and regulate homeostasis of body weight via central nervous system. Metformin is an anti hyperglycemia which is used for treatment of type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study was investigating correlation between leptin and insulin levels before and after treatemnt with metformin in type ÏÏ diabetic patients. Materials and methods : Ïn this clinical trail, 25 cases type ÏÏ diabetic patients with BMÏ greater than 30 Kg/m2, (mean age 52 ± 12 years) were selected. They received treatment with metformin (1000 mg twice daily) for one month, then a fasting blood sample was taken and analyzed.
