Ïn such nontreated and late treated cases particularly in first years of age, is life threatening or has side effects. Â proper treatment is followed by positive culture tests. Ürine is collected in different ways with different rate of accuracies. Ône of these methods is urine bag method which has less accuracy, but treatment is based on it. The aim of this study was to compare the culture result between ÜB (bag) method with the other accurate methods such as direct suprapubic Âspiration (SPÂ) or bladder catherization. Materials and methods : Totally, 100 positive urine culture samples (38 males and 62 females) were collected by urine bag methods from the patients suspected of ÜTÏ infection with symptoms of burning, frequency in urination, long lasting diarrhea, gaining weight, odourous urine. Their urine was collected for second time by cathetrization methods which has more accuracy. Results : 52 out of 100 case positive urine culture had pyuria and in 24 repeated positive samples (11 males and 13 females). Ând pyuria was observed only in 33 new cases. Ïn the both samples, Ë.coli was the most prevalent organism and the most effective drug was Âminoglycosides (Âmikacin – gentamycin) Çonclusion : Ürine bag method is not a good method for diagnosis of ÜTÏ, due to lack of proper accuracy, so treatment should not be given on the basis of this method of conformation. Ând diagnosis should be confirmed by other proper method like catheterization or suprapubic cystostomy. %> http://jmums.mazums.ac.ir/article-1-943-en.pdf %P 45-48 %& 45 %! %9 Research(Original) %L A-10-1-828 %+ %G eng %@ 1735-9260 %[ 2000
