Background and purpose: Universities have an important role in science product and promotion of scientific status throughout the country and the world. Therefore, the present research intended to investigate the scientific outputs of researchers and members of academic boards in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in Scopus database during 1992-2013 and mapping this university’s scientific production. Materials and methods: In a descriptive research using Scientometrics approach we investigated the scientific documents and articles indexed in Scopus Database of which at least one writer was affiliated with Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences. Results: Findings showed a positive growth in scientific products by researches in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences during the investigated years. In 1997 there were only two articles indexed in Scopus while in 2013, this number increased to 345. A total of 1540 documents and articles affiliated with Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences were indexed in Scopus during 1992-2013. Conclusion: Although the quantity of published articles affiliated with Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences showed a positive growth, but a significant number of these articles have been published in journals with low impact factors.
