A Survey on a Decade of Scientific Production of Mazandaran, Baghiyatallah, Hamedan and Shahid Sadoughi Universities of Medical Sciences in Web of Science

Background and purpose: In this article bibliometrics method was used to review scientific productivity of researchers in Mazandaran, Baghiyatallah, Hamedan and Shahid Sadoughi Universities of Medical Sciences and Health Services during 2000-2010 in Web of Science (WOS) database. Materials and methods: This descriptive analytical study included all publications of researchers of Mazandaran, Baghiyatallah, Hamedan and Shahid Sadoughi Universities in WOS database during 2000-2010. We used four indicators in this study: number of article per year (NAPY), number of citation per year (NCPY), H-index and Top Ten publishers. Results: The process of scientific production of Mazandaran, Baghiyatallah, Hamedan and Shahid Sadoughi universities of Medical Sciences enjoyed an increasing growth in quality and quantity in the WOS database between 2000-2010. Conclusion: An upward trend (33%) is seen in the publications of Mazandaran, Baghiyatallah, Hamedan and Shahid Sadoughi universities of Medical Sciences during 2000-2010 in WOS database.
