Abstract Background and purpose: Educational assessment is an important component for promoting educational system in universities. Although there are many clinical students (residents and interns) at Iranian Universities, there is no study evaluating the correlation of assessment of university consultants by the students at different levels. Thus, this study was aimed to compare the assessment of medical consultants of MUMS by residents vs. those by interns and medical students. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional study all departments of MUMS involving in teaching residents (at all levels) and interns or medical students, including pediatrics, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and psychiatry were evaluated. 183 students assessed 51 teachers through 1529 questionnaires. Consisted of 22 questions and a final 0-10 mark for each teacher. The data were evaluated by SPSS software. Results: Sixty one percent of the students were female and 39.4 percent of them were residents. Pediatrics and obstetrics had significantly better results than other departments (P<0.001). The results of 0-10 and 22-110 responses of the students had a correlation of 85% (r=0.85, P<0.01). The assessment of residents was significantly different (P<0.001) vs. those of interns and students. No significant differences were observed between the results of evaluation made by male and female (P=0.37). Conclusion: Students at different clinical levels (residents, interns or medical students) had different ideas regarding their clinical education and this should be considered in precise educational planning in different departments.
