Abstract
Background and purpose: Coronary artery disease is one of the major causes of death worldwide and analysis of survival data is important in these patients. The Cox model not only calculates the hazard function but also introduces other significant variables.
Materials and methods: 128 patients referred to Mazandaran Heart Center from 2005 to 2007 and treated by angioplasty were followed till 2012 for major complications.
Results: The time of hospitalization after angioplasty, familial history and diabetes mellitus were variables found significant using Cox Model.
Conclusion: According to our findings, the risk of restenosis in patients treated by angioplasty increases by time. The survival of the patients decreases considerably after 60 months. Hazard rate increases significantly after 70 month.
Key words: Survival, coronary artery disease, angioplasty
