Background and purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between attachment styles and spiritual intelligence and marital satisfaction in married female teachers in government primary schools in Khorramabad, Iran.
Materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was performed in all married female teachers in primary schools in 2014. Stratified random sampling was used and 260 individuals were selected. Data was collected using the Adult Attachment Scale, Spiritual Intelligence Self Report Inventory, and Marital Satisfaction Scale. Data analyses were done in SPSS V. 20 using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: Positive correlations were found between spiritual intelligence and marital satisfaction and secure attachment and marital satisfaction (P= 0.001). According to regression analysis, attachment styles and spiritual intelligence explained 40% and 45% of the variance in satisfaction, respectively.
Conclusion: This study indicates the need for improving marital satisfaction in teachers considering their attachment styles and spiritual intelligence.
