Abstract: (73 Views)
Health-promoting behaviors are among the most significant determinants of health, particularly for women, who play a central role in the well-being of families and communities. Given that women constitute nearly half of the population and contribute substantially to family and societal health, identifying and examining factors that influence the promotion of women’s health is of critical importance. The present study aimed to conduct a scoping review of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors influencing health promotion among women of reproductive age. A structured and systematic search strategy was employed across Persian and international databases, including SID, Magiran, IranDoc, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect. Relevant keywords were applied using standardized Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) to retrieve studies addressing factors associated with women’s health-promoting behaviors. The search timeframe was limited to publications from 2014 to 2025. Following comprehensive screening, removal of duplicates, and exclusion of irrelevant or low-quality articles, 49 studies were deemed eligible and included in the final analysis. Findings were organized into three principal categories: 1) Biopsychosocial-economic-spiritual factors, encompassing the complex interactions among physical, psychological, social, economic, and spiritual dimensions of health. 2) Sexual factors, including sexual health and functioning, love, and affection, identified as key determinants influencing overall health among women of reproductive age.3) Individual characteristics, such as personality traits, educational level, and lifestyle patterns, which play an important role in health promotion and self-care. Women’s health during the reproductive years is a multidimensional phenomenon shaped by biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors, with bio-spiritual dimensions forming the foundation of overall health. Sexual and emotional health are central to women’s well-being, while demographic and individual characteristics significantly influence the adoption and maintenance of health-promoting behaviors.
